Review on 📶 Top Data Product: A56FW-PCI Mach 2 56K Modem by Eric Grayson

Well, like most other respondents, I chose to express my disappointment with this modem. The lousy $10 modem from Best Data/Conexants is utterly disappointing. While installation was easy on my new 600MHz P3 running Win98, performance left a lot to be desired. Multiple retries and frequent shutdowns are the norm. There's also a really weird behavior where the modem's speaker turns on in the middle of a session and doesn't turn off (needs to turn off). The tech support website is basically useless and I couldn't believe they charged a fee for phone support. I have a second 56k modem that I usually use on another PC and it works great, thanks. I bought this modem with the expectation that it would be a suitable backup for my cable modem. It doesn't live up to even such modest expectations. Best Data's A56FW-PCI Mac 2 modem sucks. Don't buy this.
