This burner works really well with a little effort. Unfortunately, something in the production process leaves a residue in the condenser section of the burner. The first gallon smelled bad, old motor oil and chemicals. The second gallon was a little better, but not by much. So far I've overhauled 5 liters of water that I had to throw away because of the smell. Finally, by the 6th gallon, the odor was reduced to the point where the water was considered usable. The smell is still there, but barely perceptible. I'm sure it will improve over time.
