This wireless microphone set is easy to use, well built and does exactly what microphones have to offer They're supposed to be supercardioid pickups, which means they have a very small pickup pattern, mostly in front of the diaphragm. If your mouth is 1-3" away, the sound is about as good as any commercial mic I've heard; and they don't pick up much unwanted ambient noise. The construction of the mics seems very solid. The body is metal, not plastic, and they're actually heavy. Not to the point where you can't hold them for long, but heavy as if you drop one it won't break because it's metal. One downside to this design is that these mics are very thick. So thick that none of my standard mic holders for use with stan that fits on it - and they don't come with microphone holders either. My application is such that I need it to be able to attach it to a table or bar. Since this set is included, they can only be used in manual mode. If the mics weren't so thick it wouldn't be a problem because I could use the mic holders I already have with the stands I already have. Because of this, I really believe the kit should have mic clips/clamps that work with it OR the mics should be designed to work with standard sized mic mounts. Now we come to the receiver. It can be rack mounted, which is a great advantage if you intend to use this system in a rack. Some of the other listings are just boxes with no fasteners. This receiver is simple: a power connection point a power switch two antenna screw points 4 XLR outputs (one for each microphone channel) a 1/4" output that mixes all four microphones to mono output. 4-position control. So the receiver is a mixer if you use it with a 1/4" output OR it's just a receiver if you take each mic and send the audio from it from the receiver to an external mixer. It's that simple. A user manual suits that Kit included but almost not needed. The level controls on the front of the receiver act as the level/volume controls for each individual microphone.I connected this system to a studio video streaming device and found that the mono sound only came from the left channel came in. .so I need to use an extra mixer if I want to use these mics for my live video streams. That and as I said before I also need mic holders that mics di can accommodate this thickness. What does it all mean? If you want a wireless system and don't need to use mics on stands AND you have an additional mixer that can only convert the left channel signal to mono (both channels), this system is a great buy. It comes with everything you need (even mic batteries) to get you started in less than five minutes. So the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. I only found two things to complain about. This system makes a world of difference and does exactly what is advertised.
