Wiring/cables may need lengthening

This camera was installed on a 2008-2012 Honda Accord. The license plate is attached to the trunk lid, and the brake lights are in the corners. If your vehicle is configured similarly, you will likely need to either extend the 12V wiring or connect a short video extension cable (75 ohms) as the connection from the camera cable is approximately 12" to 18" shorter. I decided to add an extra video cable with splitter as I had already made the 12V wire connections and didn't want to extend them. By default, the camera attaches to the frame of the license plate bracket; Because the camera mounts slightly above the mount, the mount itself can be mounted behind your plate, making the setup feel less like an add-on, which is nice. The camera has two small wires which, when cut, disable the assist guides and image flip, allowing them to be selected. I left mine untouched. But if my stereo/head unit had a guideline option, I would disable it. The first problem is that they point upwards rather than outwards. Part of that could be a lens that has a fisheye effect on the outer edges. Not scary, but there. night vision is good. A little grainy in total darkness, but you can definitely see a decent image. My license plate light didn't blur, so that was good. Another nice thing is that they activate quickly; I had a different brand on a different car that took about 5 seconds to activate. Maybe it was the head unit, not the camera. But this one works fast, and I wanted to note that as a plus. In general, the camera is fine. I chose it based on average rating / number of items sold. But based on the above and the fact that the price is a bit higher than what I've paid in the past for cameras I actually liked better, I'm giving it 4 stars. Hopefully that lasts, but if you're picky about these things, you might want to look elsewhere. If in the future I find that the camera breaks or has problems, I will update the review.
