Tires Claude Monet: Look great from a distance, but not so good up close

TL;DR - Terrible quality control. One tire holds up great, the other is a puncture/tear magnet. Classic Claude Monet tires: Looks good from afar, but not so much on closer inspection. The center tread is thin and doesn't hold up well. Bought a kit for long distances on sidewalks and bike lanes. Adjusted them for a dry fit, then tubeless with sealant, and took a test ride around the area to make sure everything was fine. Leave the tires overnight and the pressure will drop a bit, which is normal. On the first ride I took a breath and kept going. Went from LA to San Francisco on slick bike paths and roads and the rear tire must have caught something and started spraying sealant. No problem. Normally I would just use a plug, but I stopped, patched whatever I could with a tire box and stuck the tube in because I still had room to move and most of the sealant had leaked out. Further down the road another spot broke in the middle of the profile and the tube was dead. Luckily I took two tubes with me because I'm such an A student. Changed and came to the SB before the turn. On the way down, you know what? Another puncture in a DIFFERENT location on the same tire. At this point I patched up the whistle as much as I could and backed up as far as I could before calling for a car. 1 flat tyre, 2 leaking hoses, 3 empty CO2 canisters and later a terrible driving experience, now I'm looking for something else.
