4 stars deducted because I'm not really happy that this water shoe has no arch. I've been complaining for years about shoe manufacturers stopping putting cleats in shoes and forcing us to buy separate arches for insoles - and now I'm supposed to feel like a cast-in arch under the middle of the bare foot? I don't wear socks in water shoes! And the inserted arch sticks to the sole of the half foot. I can feel it when I move my toes. There is nothing worse than feeling something in the shoe. Keen's and Crocs are made for water and have a rubber bottom with a curved arch. It should be so. They have a layer of fabric over a flat bottom. Don't worry about the fabric in the water. But the fabric seems to be some kind of synthetic, it doesn't get moldy, I can't tell for sure. In any case, they will obviously be sent back. The only star they get is for the fit. The size chart was accurate in my case. I simply measured the bottom of my foot with a tape measure and followed the instructions.
