This alarm clock is expensive considering it's also a night light, sound device, FM radio and of course a clock. It can be powered by an AC converter (included), USB (standard cable, not included) or battery (included), but is more of a backup in case AC or USB fails. I like the front panel. Design with time shining through the fabric. The night light comes in 6 colors and can be dimmed, although even in low light it's a bit bright for my bedside table. It is a good night light for a child's room where it is not placed next to the child's bed, for example. Illumination for the time and other settings on the front can also be controlled, and that's a pretty wide range of brightness. I prefer the 2nd dimmest mode which is still clearly visible at night but not intrusive. In the brightest light it is clearly visible even in a very brightly lit room. Even before I bought it, I knew I wouldn't like the "plastic" top of the watch with controls. It's getting harder and harder to find a good watch with a real wood or metal case. The plastic only makes it look cheap, but with so many controls, I think it should be plastic. I would appreciate if the controls were on the back. And with the controls, I have the most problems with this watch. They are complex. For example, if you press the "mode" button you will get a different result depending on what mode the watch is currently in, i.e. if you press it while the time is showing it will switch to a mode and if you press it in sound machine mode, it will switch to another mode. The truth is I will be using this primarily as a clock so it's not a big deal to me but if you keep setting your alarm to different times, if you use a radio with preset stations, if you if you hear white noise a lot or changing the volume, you may need some time to learn how to use the controls. White noise is very good; There are only 6 sounds but out of 6 I like 5. I have sound machines with 20 options and I can only like one of them, the choice of these clocks impressed me. Overall, I like this watch for my purposes (except for the plastic controls) and while the features work well and there are many options, accessing the options might be a little tricky.
