Seals won't bend, crack or break

At first they melted like the other candles in the set and spread everywhere. Ordering candles in summer (I had them at the end of June) I just think is a bad idea and the candles were in their own bag but when they melted they dripped onto everything else. It wasn't too hard and I'm actually a little glad it happened as I was about to order some candle holders and being reminded that this is not a good idea has now saved me from a disappointing future order. Candles are just small white tea lights that you can get anywhere so they are easy to replace. The container with the wax beads was confused as well as some other buyers. This bin just doesn't close, so the compartments don't close. I just gave it to my daughter with OCD and she spent an hour happily sorting them and arranging them in precise little rows. If it weren't here I would sort through a few every time I used it until it either ran out or didn't care. I don't mind. I will say after sorting them I realized you will not get the same amount of each color. I think the total was more than listed, but a few colors had less than 30 while most had 30+. My biggest issue with this product and why I deducted a star is that I think these beads have a high content of polymers in them. Seals don't break, they just bend, meaning they tend to tear the paper they're stuck on if you try to open them. For those who like to fold Regency letters this is a problem. I don't want my seal to break my letter when the recipient opens it. If you seal the envelope where it doesn't matter if it tears, or if you use it in a decorative context, like on a certificate or something where it doesn't seal anything, you're fine. We have used several seals with these wax beads and they all turned out beautifully. While I don't like all the colors (personal preference and to be expected with so many colors), they all seem to work well and mix well together if you enjoy doing swirly colors. My daughter has been making seals for a few days and she has a jar full of her favorites. The melter works well and is relatively easy to clean, as long as you have a tissue handy to wipe it down while it's still hot. If you need a guide on how to use this item, you can easily find something on YouTube or the web, it's very simple. Light a candle, put a spoon on a stand, drop 4 beads of wax into it, let it melt, pour it on the place to be sealed, put a seal (sold separately) on the wax and press it lightly , wait a little and erase. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE - These sealing wax beads melt easily and dry quickly, saving you the hassle. The wax bead has an octagonal shape, set on 2-3 beads, it is enough to seal envelopes, wedding invitations, etc.
Cons
  • Expensive
