Review on πŸ’ͺ Evelots Inches Spring Grips Opening: Efficient Tool for Easy and Secure Grip by Trey Michaels

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great Product at an Unbelievable Price

Overall these clips appear to be a very good product. Good value for money, good construction and if I need more in the future I'll probably buy them again. I bought these to use on phones after a screen/back glass replacement to hold everything together until the glue sets and so far they are working great. The clamps were shipped in a box with product logo/images. I appreciate the cardboard as it is easy to disassemble/fold and I can toss it in a heap for recycling. It's also a good box to keep the clips in while I'm not using them. It's secure inside but easy to open (so a plastic bag I see a lot with Chinese products, which isn't too bad. You just have to be careful when opening the bag as it's quite thin and easily breakable. The clips seem very strong, with thick plastic handles The handles have a "grip pattern" to prevent fingers from slipping are non-slip! These pads are attached in such a way that they can easily come loose if not handled properly The spring is amazing strong - during testing I handled the clip incorrectly which resulted in it hitting me with the handle and my finger throbbing a little. I would absolutely not recommend them for people with arthritis! The spring also appears to be plastic. The Whole thing holds together with a screw and nut combo Philips. It also looks like plastic but can't tell for sure. The inward edges of the handles can be rough though.I am sure, it's easy to smooth it out with sandpaper, but I'm not bad enough to try and sand it myself. There are also "bulges" in the plastic (see photo), but they don't really bother me. If you hold the clamps right under your nose, there's a faint smell of something chemical - maybe a solvent? Whatever it was, when I caught my first scent, my head spun like I'd sniffed a skunk. The smell is invisible from anywhere but the nostrils, so I don't see this as a problem. In general, the clips lack the extra "polishing" like a rough underside and plastic lugs. I've seen this lack of extra polish on other cheap Chinese products, and considering they're under a dollar a clip, I don't think it's worth arguing about. I have received and inspected all twelve clamps and have not found anything obviously wrong with any of them. In general I am very happy with them. Good workmanship, seems solid enough to last a while. The quality control and polish that these clips have is great for the price paid. Looking at some of the other reviews I saw a few complaints and my answer is: Complaint: Not durable as described. Answer: I don't understand why. For less than a dollar a unit, I would call them durable. In my opinion, they definitely make a very robust impression. Complaint: Orange pads fall off; Clips falling apart Answer: It really looks like they received a bad batch or a few defects and didn't try to contact the seller for a refund or replacement. I've run each clamp through a couple of compressions and played around with them a bit and haven't had any problems.// Update 7/29/19 - The clamp slipped out of my hand and broke, causing one of the orange pads to dislodge. out. To me, this falls under mistreatment, so I don't feel obligated to give a full star. Complaint: Not recyclable Answer: Assuming all clamps are made of nylon, they *ARE* recyclable! It's just a matter of finding a company that does, and a quick Google search can provide information. If you have any questions after reading this review, feel free to ask! If I run into any issues with this, or if I add more information later, I'll update this review. Thank you for reading! :)
