Review on 🧈 OXO Good Grips Butter Dish: Ultimate Convenience and Easy Handling by Raul Fabijan

This isn't just a butter dish.

Okay, okay. I know it's a butter dish, not an air conditioner, not an IoT-enabled IoT WiFi, a WPA2-encrypted can of whipped cream, or whatever, but even the "simple things" in life should be recognized and appreciated when they're doing something right . Back for a minute, let me explain what my previous experiences with butter dishes were before this one came up: simple. About as easy as they come. White ceramic butter dish. which was good. Everything was good. If you have one now, I'm sure you'll agree: it's fine. But now that I've had it for a while I really can't find a reason to ever go back. Because this classic ceramic cannot: 1) Let you know at a glance how much oil is in it. 2) Let me completely strip the wrapper off the butter and still know where to cut into X tablespoon portions. 3) Sing for me*. I'm not moving far enough off center to smear the oil around and/or inside the edge. 5) Provide little protrusions that ensure the butter doesn't slip out of the bowl if I'm trying to hold a plate or an armful of buns in one hand while awkwardly trying to butter with the other. The list goes on (I don't mean exactly, but you know what I'm talking about). My point is that divorce is often an uncomfortable process that can have serious, long-term, and negative consequences for everyone involved. . For example, when you find yourself in a tiny new apartment with about a tenth of what you once thought were things that were yours, even though they were admittedly shared. And if you're always looking for that pat of softened butter to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich (because it's become a pretty common dinner option these days), you don't have to suffer every time it doesn't. I can't find this little white simple thing that honestly hasn't worked as well as other dishes (like the one reviewed here) that are likely / should have been in the last 5-10 years or so . , right, what are you waiting for?* This butter dish doesn't sing either. However, it's still amazing. Hope that helps. Please let me know if there are any questions. But seriously, why? It's just a butter dish.

Pros
  • Dinnerware and serving dishes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
