First of all it holds my oil which is fantastic. Also, the dimensions are stamped on it so I can easily snip off a 1 tsp stick of butter if I want to. The rubber feet are nice because they keep the plate from sliding around on the table (although I've never had a problem with pans without legs) and because they lift the plate slightly which makes lifting easier. I had a butter stick container which I really liked. The one you just stick your butter stick (wrapper and all) in and it fits and snaps perfectly. The best part is that it fits perfectly in my butter compartment in the fridge, doesn't take up much space and I can drop it a million times over (because to be honest I keep garlic and other things in that compartment so it gets crowded a lot) and it never breaks !
