I only got my tortoise a while ago and am still learning how to care for it. My turtle started doing somersaults in the water and was acting strange. After doing some research I realized I needed a heat lamp so I bought this. My turtle is no longer acting strange and seems happy. The lamp didn't burn the plastic heating zone and heat up the tank, so I'm pretty sure it worked fine. It was easy to move and the cord reached perfectly to the outlet. A second bulb was included in the package in case the first needed to be replaced. I've had about a month so far. The clamp is very strong. Its curved part (don't know what it's called) is quite long, but I put it backwards on the tank to make it fit better. (My aquarium is small now, but I'm looking for a bigger one)
