Not safe for ceramic lamps

The description is for ceramic lamps but the product comes with a warning. NOT FOR USE WITH CERAMIC HEATER! It was irresponsible and potentially dangerous

  • Confident

Not recommended, switch breaks easily

I bought this lamp in November and now it's only the beginning of May and the light doesn't work anymore. I have a light that is hooked up to a timer for my beard so I don't use the on/off switch. Read a few reviews where people said the switch failed after just a month. It seems I just delayed the inevitable by a few months. I'll try another brand and hopefully at least get my money's worth, I don't want to change my headlights every 3-4 months, feeding him was fine with me! giggle

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some problems

Bulb eater best in terrarium heat lamps and mats

Bulb eater. This lamp destroys lightbulbs. This is madness. Every 2 months you need to put in a new bulb. The lamp never breaks or burns out, but lightbulbs do break, and part of that must be the lamp. Of course the cord is strong and of a good length, the on/off switch is very functional but once you get to the lamp there are many problems. The biggest problem, apart from destroying the lamps, is that the lamp keeps unscrewing itself. I don't understand why they can't make one that fits in…

Serves a purpose.

They are slightly more expensive than the big department stores. In this case, it's the switch that gives you more control over the light. They work with 150 watt bulbs because I have two of them (ceramic and heater). As can be seen in the pictures, the switches are easy to assemble and very easy to use. I love the clip feature and made a frame out of PVC to keep the light at the desired height to control the temperature in the heat zones. As my iguana grows into a large cage, I will have more…

Incorrect listing information for this product

I bought this because the listing information specifically states that it can be used with ceramic heaters. I'm not sure if the listing information will change some time after purchasing this item but I decided to check as the papers in the box when the lamp arrived had a warning clearly stating that this was NOT the case should be used. for ceramic radiant heaters and invites you to purchase another of their lamps for use with radiant heaters. So I wasted my money and I don't want to go…

Perfect for hedgehog cage

I was very skeptical about this lamp as it has such a wide range of reviews but so far I have no complaints about it. Everything works great when used with a ZooMed 100W CHE bulb and a Zilla thermostat. It radiates warmth, obviously the lampshade will be hot, so just don't touch it and you'll be fine. I put it directly on the wire cage and even the wire part of the cage roof was not hot, just a little warm like someone was laying on it. Not sure why there is extreme love hate among the reviews…

Pros
  • Simple design
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about with this lamp everything is fine

I recently inherited a Russian tortoise. He was in a smaller terrarium so we decided to get a bigger one. However, the new one is 16 inches tall versus 12 inches tall. So I needed a mount I could use that would hold a 100w infrared lamp but also allow me to place it on the mesh at the top of the cage. I also bought a Revain 100w Exo Terra infrared heat lamp to use as it is a bit shorter than other brands. The only problem was that while the bulb wasn't as tall, it still touched the grille…

I use this for non-traditional stuff, but it works great.

I used to have pet therapy lamps when I had reptiles and loved them. I ended up giving them away when my little friends died and over the years I've used them they've worked great. The toggle switch is a really great thing for day/night cycling and I swear by it. but that's not why I bought it. I bought a 12 inch jewelry photography light tent and this baby sits on it perfectly and lights up the entire photo booth. I really like the on/off switch because I can turn it on and take pictures…

Pros
  • Heat Lamps
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Suitable for hedgehogs where exact temperature is not important

I bought this for my hedgehog. Hedgehogs prefer temperatures around 70 degrees, which is not always the case with me. I usually use this lamp to raise the temperature a few degrees when I'm concerned I'm not warm enough. It usually stays off in the summer (because the hedgehog is away from my AC and stays quite warm) and even more so in the winter because the heater is across the room from her cage. I've found this lamp to be good for raising the temperature a few degrees, but not by much. It…
