Review on Enhanced Lighting Solution: Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp for Reptiles by Luis Thompson

I recently got a Russian tortoise. He was in a smaller terrarium so we decided to get a bigger one. However, the new one is 16 inches tall versus 12 inches tall. So I needed a mount I could use that would hold a 100w infrared lamp but also allow me to place it on the mesh at the top of the cage. I also bought a Revain Exo Terra 100w Infrared Heat Lamp to use as it is a bit shorter in height than another manufacturer's lamp. The only problem was that although the bulb wasn't that tall, it still touched the grille (sticking out a bit over the edge of the fixture). The solution was simple. At the four corners I cut "black clips" that lift it up just enough to clear the mesh. Then I removed the two metal handles from the clips. This allows me to hold the bottle as close to the grid as possible without touching it to get maximum warmth for the turtle underneath. I don't use the clip feature and removed the clip because I don't need it. I would highly recommend this lamp as it can safely accommodate a 100w bulb.
