Great little compressor. I've had cheaper compressors that plug into the cigarette lighter. I don't need a compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter as it just doesn't have enough power to deflate large tires or tires that need a lot of air. The cigarette lighter on one of our vehicles is fitted with a 5 amp fuse which cannot supply much current. This compressor has a built-in 30A fuse. It easily fills our CRV's 16-inch tires. I love that it actually has an air cartridge on the end of the hose. must be screwed onto the valve stem before air can enter the tire. This compressor is very quiet compared to many similar air compressors I've had. It's loudest when running, but doesn't pump up the tire - even then it's not very loud. It's quieter when the tire is full It was a bit more money than I wanted to spend but Viair has a good reputation and I think it was money well spent.
