Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Shoyeido Pure White Ash by Yolanda Reed

Good for flow control and fire protection.

This is for those who use charcoal incense sticks. You get a charcoal block - if you don't burn rave parties in a large open area you will suffocate. It burns too hot too fast. Even if you control the incense by dropping a little on it often, it will quickly eat up the air. Some people kill themselves that way. Accidentally or otherwise. It's the hidden ingredient - ash - and it's the best strain. Burn charcoal in a thick clay bowl - on the sand. To prevent a fire. Light the charcoal and place the incense on top, then rub it into the incense with tongs and sprinkle the ashes on top. You can knock it out (smother it) with more ash, but you must use a lid. But it's best to control the flow so that it sounds like a regular incense stick. A little ash on top will slow it down. And while the coal burns and the incense burns, they add to the ash. I also found it useful as a precaution with standard sticks. My favorite incense sticks are Nag-Champa Goloka. Again, I'm using a large earthenware mushroom mug I made in a pottery class a long time ago. Very thick walls. I pour sand on the bottom, pour a little ash over it and mix a little. Then, as the sticks burn and ash falls, the fireproof base absorbs the heat and quenches any deep fires. If I'm distracted, I can "turn off" the incense sticks by simply turning them upside down in the ashes - they'll continue to burn slowly in the sand, but go out instantly in the ashes - this also prevents the sticks from burning by being ruined by one getting them wet or risking a fire by blowing their heads off, which would still be lit and could set the rug on fire.
