I typically use a red-tipped Lufkin X46 folding rule (my favorite ruler of the last 50 years) and 16 and 30 foot tapes. But I bought this 40 foot house to build a 30 foot tiny house. It was very convenient to check the transverse corners for squareness and make all the markings on the walls. It's a beast and it's hanging in my pocket trying to pull my pants down but it was the right tool for the job. I've used it for my entire build and it shows no signs of wear. good tool.
