Surprisingly it works
I was very hesitant to buy this as it is not an official Nikon device. But Nikon didn't have anything in stock, so I went with this one. Before ordering I gave it a 50/50 chance it would work. To my surprise, it works great with my Nikon D7100. The battery cover doesn't close (in fact it came off at all) but for the D7100 this isn't a problem, it works even with the cover open. I've used this adapter for five 2 hour live sessions with no issues. Of course only time will tell if it will last and not damage my camera in unexpected ways. But so far I'm satisfied.
