The 2006 Ford Mustang Shaker 500 already has an Aux button on the radio but no Aux connector. I looked online for removing the radio and hooked up the aux port on the center console where there is a small removable panel (which I could cheaply replace if I hit the hole). I also took the time to install an internal trunk release button, as Ford decided not to go that route either. Just for the radio, I think it took me less than 90 minutes from the moment I started pulling out the tools to the point I put them down. The 12V DC comes straight from the charging port just above the radio. I would suggest you have one of those little electric welders that you just clip to the power cord and snap into place. No need to cut wires. I'm very happy that I can plug in my old iPod or phone and just run my music apps, especially on long discs.
