Review on ๐Ÿ”‡ Optimized PPC FPA6-54 6dB Forward Path Attenuator for DOCSIS Cable TV Box and Modem at 75 Ohms by Kenny Shaver

Revainrating 5 out of 5

excellent signals on satellite TVs

using comcast internet and cable tv the technician installed an attenuator and said my signal was too hot but the attenuator installed reduced my SNR to 33, which was still considered good. but also had distorted espn 2, nfl network and nbcsn channels. with netgear cm 1000 modem and xr500 router and bds102h bidirectional splitter. After researching and reading good reviews about this attenuator, I gave it a try and it works great. Got 2 of these, one on the back of my modem and the other on the back of my cable box. Basically fixed my download performance and distorted channels. Also helped my wired Xbox One x download speed from 151 Mbps to 290 Mbps and upload speed from 22.6 Mbps to 23.8 Mbps. Below is a before and after picture of this damper and what is recommended. Load power before: +6.5dBmV to +8.9dBmV Load power after: -0.1dBmV to +2.0dBm Recommended power level: -5dBmV to +5dBm Load to noise ratio: 39dB to 42dB Load SNR after: 39dB to 42dB recommended Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR): 32dB to 50dB Upstream power up to: 39dBmV to 40dBm Upstream power after: from 40dBmV to 42dBm recommended Upstream power: 32dBm to 50dBm without distortion channels

Pros
  • 75 ohm impedance
Cons
  • not everything fits
