Review on πŸƒ Effortlessly Lightweight: Topo Athletic FLI Lyte Running Black – The Ultimate Choice for Enhanced Performance by Eric Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great fit, lightweight, fun to walk on, versatile - really great shoe.

I've liked the Fly Lyte in all three iterations and this is the best version yet. Comfortable fit, secure heel and midfoot, very good toe rotation. Important note: I have a major Haglund deformity on my left heel and the heel stand doesn't bother it at all. I've run easy runs, fartleks, tempo runs and long runs up to 19 miles. performance is great. I've ridden just over 100km and so far the durability is good. I like the amount of pillows; It's enough to make the ride comfortable but not tiring, while still making it easy to get good feedback from the ground. It's easy to pick up speed or get around on a cruise. In general very satisfied. As for drop: I like shoes with a low to medium drop, but I don't like zero drop for regular workouts (at least for now), so that fits the bill. Sometimes I like to flex more on long runs in general and for a couple of long runs I just added 2-3mm of heel lift. Of course most people won't need it, but for me personally it definitely adds versatility as this little mod is still excellent. So thumbs up. I hope that the shoes stay the way they are in the future.

Pros
  • The FLI-Lyte 3 is compatible with most types of running socks and orthotics, making it a versatile choice for runners with special needs.
Cons
  • Shoes can be irritating for people with plantar fasciitis or other foot problems.
