Review on DeLonghi EC885M Dedica Espresso Machine by Christine Moore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great espresso machine.

The DeLonghi Dedica Arte espresso coffee maker is beautifully crafted from a blend of brushed stainless steel and plastic. Most of the exterior is made of stainless steel, so it looks luxurious and beautiful on the kitchen table. In general, it is very well assembled, does not bend or creak, looks very high quality. The supplied tamper is also well made and makes a solid impression. The machine is very easy to use. The water tank can be removed for filling, or you can simply pour water through the top while it's still on the machine. There is a power button on the side and three buttons on top – single dose, double dose and vapor. The portafilter takes some serious effort to get it on and off, but it does loosen up a bit over time. The kit contains filters for the preparation of single, double and capsule espresso. After switching on, the coffee machine is ready for use in a few seconds. I use a single serving basket that holds about 9 grams of finely ground coffee beans. The coffee machine is quite quiet and produces a smooth and even flow of espresso. Espresso extracts well and tastes fantastic. The steam nozzle extends far enough to easily move the milk jug for a good froth. I use a barista blend with oat milk and DeLonghi creates a light and fluffy frothed milk. All in all, DeLonghi delivers excellent results across the board when it comes to preparing quality espresso. The portafilter is easy to clean with a soft bottle brush. In general. great espresso machine.
