A bit of a different kind of use for this item. The sun comes through the front door window at a certain time of the afternoon and it is blinding. I've had difficulty finding something to cover it with; it is a 1/2 circle window. This fan is the right size and shape, and because the material on it is sheer, I cut a piece of upholstery material and put it behind. Fastened everything on with command Velcro strips. It's working fine. It is sturdy enough for this purpose. If I find something that works better, I'll change it, but it is working just fine for now, and looks okay. I'm happy with the purchase. Of course, now I'm noticing that I need to paint the door! :-)
