This is a great size dish for my 6 pound miniature pinscher 6 month old puppy. It slows him down some, I would think most other breeds might slow down even more. He just does everything at about 110 miles per hour, so if he's now eating at 60 miles per hour it's a great help. The only thing I would change is if it were heavier, weighted somehow. he moves it all over the floor as he's eating from it, even with the tiny little rubber stickies that came with it to stick on each side of the bottom. They help, but I think more weight would really have been more helpful. It does work, slows down the inhaling of food, so it's well worth it!
