I have installed top brand air intakes on my last four cars but decided to try the valance system on my 2009 Cadillac CTS. The good news is that once installed, the system is very good. Components are well made, the kit is cheaper than competing systems, and the airbox matches OEM underhood covers for a more finished look than the competition. The system provides a noticeable improvement in throttle response, exhaust tone and acceleration. The engine runs better and I suspect I'll get some mpg on the freeway. The bad news is that installation is downright difficult. Installation instructions are not provided; just a diagram of what the parts should look like and how they fit together. The list of parts and their appearance will not exactly match what is included in your custom kit. There is no indication of which OEM parts should be kept and used with the kit, and there is no indication of difficulties to be expected during installation. The space for the kit is very narrow, full of obstacles, and no installation order is suggested to avoid these obstacles. Volant's estimate of installation time in my Cadillac is ridiculous; Took me 3-4 hours and I'm not a snail. I deliberately did not ask the support team for advice to get an idea of a real painting made by my own hands. As a result, I can recommend this kit, albeit with caution that the setup is not for the faint of heart or the faint of heart.
