Review on πŸ•οΈ Igloo Outdoor Sportsman Series: Premium Coolers for Outdoor Enthusiasts by Matt Weber

Good for day trips but not durable.

I have had this product for about two and a half years and have used it on many hunting and fishing trips. Pros: affordable price. Wheels and retractable handle are convenient. Big capacity. A lightweight. Cons: Doesn't stay cold for long. Ice is not typically held for the full 24 hours. The design of the latch is not permanent. I have used this cooler on many trips and it has served me well. However, this is NOT a multi-day cooler and won't last more than a day (and you shouldn't expect that for the price). More importantly, the clasps are really poor quality. The first latch on my cooler broke after about 18 months of use (probably 6 hunting trips and a dozen fishing trips). The second latch broke after 24 months of use. The wheels are surprisingly strong. I've ridden this cooler over some pretty rough terrain and it's held up well. The retractable handle is a nice addition, but within the first 6 months or so it started to stick and became difficult to retract and insert. May I recommend? Yes, but only for light use, not for long journeys. Bottom line is if you buy a $120 cooler but need to replace it every 2-3 years you are probably better off buying a $300 cooler that will last 10 years and keep the ice longer (RTIC, Yeti). . , etc). However, if you don't have the money to shell out one of those expensive coolers, this is a viable option.

Pros
  • Practical towing handle.
Cons
  • Modern
