I bought a kitchen table from Restoration Hardwared - unsealed reclaimed wood and read countless blog/web posts on how best to seal and protect a table without losing its looks. (Restoration Hardware recommends nothing to do with wood. ?) I read a few posts that suggested using Flat Out Flat as a good option, so I went with it. The product is very easy to apply and I applied several layers. When fully cured, it literally has a flat surface and barely, just, barely changes the tone of the wood. We get a lot of spills (baby) on the kitchen table that even napkins can't contain and never have a problem cleaning them up. I wash the table with a stream of water, white vinegar and dish soap and there are no problems with the finish.
