A nearby lightning strike disabled the HDMI ports on my Toshiba TV. I bought it instead of replacing the TV. It worked great for the first year, but now I have to turn on the power a few times a week. It usually happens when I turn on the TV. It's less common to just start while I'm watching. In this case, the image and sound remain static. If I turn the converter off and on again, everything works again. I've also noticed that this sometimes happens when Xfinity is doing a nightly update. I've never seen this when I hooked up the RGB straight from the cable box. Then I can't use my HDMI switch to select my disc player, game console, etc.
