This leather is a very durable yet bold crafting tool. It arrives well packaged; bent in a rectangular box. It measures about 6" x 12", not big enough for the project I had in mind, but the cost is very reasonable to buy more if needed. It has a very pleasant smell of real leather and the color is very strong and beautiful. It scratches and scrapes easily, which I attribute to the fact that it is genuine leather. I meant I would make doll leather boots for an authentic 19th century look. I chose to hand stitch the leather as it is very durable and I didn't want to damage my regular sewing machine. I have found that this leather, while tough, can be shaped and sewn with a leather sewing needle. You have to use a lot of force on the bottom of the sewing needle to push it through the tough leather. The overall view is great; Although it took more effort and learning, it was worth it in the end. I would recommend this leather sheet as it can be worked and shaped. It would be much easier to use a sewing machine to sew, but you can sew by hand as well. It's a beautiful color and very well presented.
