Review on Waykar Dehumidifier Basements Moisture Continuous by Joe Stax

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Efficient Best in heating, cooling and air quality

Bought two Waykar dehumidifiers about 9 months ago; 40-pin and 70-pin. A 40 pint is used in my small garage which is always wet. I piped this device into a tiny condensate pump with a very long hose and then threw it out of the garage. It took 10 minutes to add a free standing condensate pump. This unit keeps the humidity in our garage at 45% and only works about 2 hours every 16 hours. I use a large 70 pint in our finished basement. We have used several other big brands and they are noisy and never keep the humidity below 60%. The Waykar 70 pint is quiet compared to Frigidaire, Honeywell and GE. Our humidity was just over 71% when we plugged in the Waykar. The next morning it was 35% and the bucket was full. I dumped the bucket, left the setting at 35% and our entire finished basement looked like a brand new room. With the fan set to low speed, the machine is so quiet that we can watch TV or enjoy company without raising our voice. I think because the cubic design allows the air distribution to be more even and therefore quieter. The air is never hot. Just a little warm and dry. Our furniture is much more comfortable. I can install another condensate pump and use the included drain hose so I can leave the unit on and forget about it. I increased the humidity to 45% and the unit runs a total of about 4 hours a day. The touchscreen requires nothing more than a light touch. It is sensitive to the warmth of the finger. With about 12 dehumidifiers in 40 years I can promise you this one is the best. Favorite Features: Quiet, efficient, and did I mention quiet. By the way, the total power consumption is 350 watts, so running it for a few hours a day would add about $3 to your monthly electric bill. It's almost free. Purchase 70 pints for rooms larger than 1200 feet, or 40 pints for rooms less than 1200 feet. Our basement is 3150 feet (large ranch) and Waykar works effortlessly.
