Review on πŸ–€ Higgins Waterproof Black India Ink 1 oz: The Ultimate Ink for Precision and Permanence by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for washing and practicing.

Very black on cheap watercolor paper and waterproof. Slight fraying and graining when washed wet-on-wet. It smears quite heavily with alcohol and takes some time to come off. With Canson XL it wasn't as black, it smudged more but didn't stand up and bleed through to the other side of the paper. It took the alcohol producer better, but still took a bit of a trade-off. And it was less waterproof. There is no noticeable lightening on any paper. In general, the ink is fine. It just doesn't do what I need for everyday use. If I washed a lot that would be great. And I'll probably just keep it for that purpose and dedicate it to him. Otherwise I'd say it's a good practice ink. If you want to do line work after using watercolor or creators, that's fine. The line just doesn't stay as crisp as I'd like. I was tempted to try it in a fountain pen, but I'm afraid of ruining my fountain pen, so I can't say if this statement is true or not.

Pros
  • Black
Cons
