Good product! on Inks

Arrived 2 days before expected date. The ink mixes and flows as it should. It comes with an eyedropper, although it's a little tricky to use because it's small. But that doesn't detract from the overall product. The ink has a slight smell, so use it in a ventilated area and you won't notice. Sorry for the bad photo quality. The ink works well on cheap canvases.

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Great for Poke n Stick!

So learn, do it right, but if you want to do it, use either tattoo ink or Indian ink. It was an offer I got online and from tattoo friends so I bought this ink. It worked great and stayed great on my skin. I'll be using it again in the future for any other PnS I make and I might even go a little crazy and do some calligraphy or something with it who knows.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Almost never

Good for drawing tattoos

Maybe not recommended, but good for embroidery. It is non-toxic and can be diluted with a drop or two of alcohol and sterilized. I find that a bottle cap filled with this mascara works very well with a roll-top lancet and a small piece of string wrapped tightly around the needle. Remember to wipe the skin with alcohol first to clean it. Disclaimer: For legal reasons, this is a very harsh joke.

Doesn't work well in the heat.

I use this specifically for clear plastics. The last two bottles I bought before this one worked great but suddenly changed. One bottle was small, one ounce, like the one I had just bought; the other was a 32 ounce bottle. Both went bad at the same time. I think it was the hot weather lately. They can no longer be applied and dried as an opaque black, but dry to a mottled grey. The bottle I received today was the same. If Chartpak makes a new batch the stuff might be fine, but until then I…

Good for washing and practicing.

Very black on cheap watercolor paper and waterproof. Slight fraying and graining when washed wet-on-wet. It smears quite heavily with alcohol and takes some time to come off. With Canson XL it wasn't as black, it smudged more but didn't stand up and bleed through to the other side of the paper. It took the alcohol producer better, but still took a bit of a trade-off. And it was less waterproof. There is no noticeable lightening on any paper. In general, the ink is fine. It just doesn't do what…

An instant step into the past.

A long time ago I learned how to use a fountain pen at school. That was no small feat. I'm left handed and to position the pen correctly on the paper I have to make all sorts of bends. I've been using a drawing set for years and it always has pens to throw ink in. Finally, I decided to check if I remember how to use such a pen. What a return. Even at the beginning there was no spatter, and I learned that the line width can be adjusted on these knobs. Sharp, sharp lines and circles, and I made…

Large bottle, fine ink

If you have an Ackerman fountain pen (ackermanpens.com) this Higgins ink works very well in these pens. And while I prefer Speedball Speedball 2-Ounce India Ink, Super Black ink for its thickness and ability to hold fine lines, it doesn't flow in my Ackerman fountain pen. I added a star for the fact that Higgins ink works well in this pen. Also because I love diluted ink and can use this ink in this way. But I probably won't buy it again. What I don't like is that this ink is too runny and…
