This is a well built block with a fuse cover and an inner conductor covered in a very resilient material that will withstand abrasion and heavy use. It is also a very difficult conductor; Listed as 10 gauge, I work with wire every day and think it's heavier. However, being heavier isn't a bad thing, if you're looking for a chain guard you certainly don't want your fuse holder to melt! My problem was that I was looking for a small circuit protection device. I didn't care that it was 10 gauge; I have outlets for that. However, when I received this my connectors didn't fit anywhere near the size (the conductor was too big) so I didn't use it. Instead, I used a small built-in holder, but it's still in my toolbox because it will probably work with a larger (more up-to-date) project in the future. I would recommend it if you need something for higher amperage circuits that require up to 30A protection. Otherwise you need to be aware that you need the right connectors for that large conductor. PLEASE don't act like the other reviewer and cut the conductor strands to fit your plugs! Just think about the size of chain you need to protect and get the right parts. This part WORKS well for fuses and lower amp projects, but you'll have to find parts to add it to your existing circuitry unless you're going to settle for plain wire nuts and that kills the waterproof/waterproof factor.
