I have 2 of these and they are well made and perfect for red-eared sliders or other aquatic or semi-aquatic turtles. For red-eared and most aquatic turtles, the water needs to reach the edge of the island to give them the necessary swimming space. You can throw away the palm tree in vain. The most important thing about this aquarium is that there is no excuse not to change the water every day or so. Do not put gravel or other decorations in it, it will make cleaning the aquarium more difficult and unnecessary. Baby turtles need clean water. Of course you will have to increase the size of the aquarium as it grows, but they are excellent to start with.
