It was slightly better than I expected when I first ordered it. The installation was for my 2011 Silverado 1500. Cons: - No installation instructions - the seams in the bottom corners are not perfect. help with wrinkles. The steamer also helps you work and put the lid on, squeezing the lid a bit for a better fit and causing the foam underneath to expand for a better fit. Basically, you just snap the lid onto the sides of the center plastic shell. then with a heat gun on medium power. This is not generally recommended for this type of material as it melts easily. But I applied the heat very gently and the coating shrunk nicely and the foam underneath expanded. I accidentally lingered in one spot for too long and caused a slight sting, but it was in a spot that was barely noticeable. Overall a good alternative to replacing the lid, but not optimal.
