Review on ⚙️ Efficient Cutting Precision: Olfa 45mm Rotary Cutter Blade - 5 Pack by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Frustrated and annoyed

EDIT 2/5/17: As 3 of the 5 blades in the pack were unused I finally gave up. On a recent visit to my local quilt store, I bought a ten-pack of Olfa blades (not cheap at $59.95, but it's a lot better than wasting money on those useless blades). As soon as I put on one of the NEW blades and cut out some pinwheel squares that I trimmed, I immediately felt the difference. The blades, which I bought locally, cut through butter like a hot knife. With these blades, bought here from Revain, I would have to saw through the seams to cut them. No comparison. These are NOT Olfa blades. Or at least not the Olfa Blades, that I buy locally. Something is wrong with them - either they are used and re-sharpened (as others are suggesting) or they are fake. Save yourself money and headaches. I learned it the hard way. Never! ----- FIRST REVIEW: They may look exactly like Olfa Blades (although all the packaging is printed in Japanese) and for the first few days of use they work like Olfa Blades, but that's where the similarity ends. The Olfa blades I buy locally last me a LONG time. They cut through several layers of fabric, often heavy fabrics as well. I have the second blade from this pack and they are both the same: They work for about a week but then they dull even with the difficult cutting through a layer of Kona cotton. annoyed! I changed the blade every 4 or 5 weeks. Unacceptable! The blades should last much longer. My local Olfa blade lasted almost a year! I wouldn't buy them again because I was obviously both smart and stupid in buying these blades. They're not worth it. Unless you want to keep re-cutting the fabric, pay the money and buy the real ones. . .
