Unit received, removed from box, unit calibrated with calibration powder provided, following instructions provided. Shortly after, I tested the calibrated device on my tap water, knowing my city water supply is at 7.2 out of the tap. The instrument gave incorrect readings at pH 6.6. Calibrate the device a second time using the same manufacturer's instructions and solutions. After a few moments, after the second calibration, the device reads 7.0 on the exact same tap water. Against my better judgment, I used this device because of all the positive reviews, attributing it to my own user error. Fast forward 10 days and my plants are already showing signs of pH damage so I went ahead and used my own professional calibration solution and can now unequivocally attest that I would be better off never owning this device and just assuming that my pH levels would be like this because it never showed the correct pH level. Needless to say, lesson learned and I now see that you "get what you pay for" when it comes to pH meters - it was a poor decision on my part to risk losing the entire crop because of a faulty 15- Dollar pH meters to spoil from the start . I will be spending about $100 and will be ordering another BlueLab pH meter soon as I have used their devices in the past with great results and never had a problem with BlueLab in the 6 or 7 years that I have been using them would have. hydroponic cultivation.
