I bought this 1000 lb scale to measure the nose weight of my boat trailer. I used a motor lift with the top connected to the lifting hook with the included carabiner and the trailer tongue was connected to the scale with the included S-hook and about 1,000 pound sling. As the hitch bar lifted off the ground, the scale began recording the weight, which should be 600 lbs (600 lbs) at the hitch (about halfway down the scale on the gauge). Weighing about 300 pounds, the S hook (see attached photo) flexed and dropped the trailer tongue, crashing it to the ground. If you're selling a 1000 pound scale, at least the connectors should be of the same carrying capacity. I replaced the S-hook and carabiner with two one-ton chain links. Never use the supplied plugs!
