Review on Pro Ject Pre Box S2 Digital by Tanya Gutierrez

Just bought and tried it for 2 days. I set the sound quality to Best, but MQA decoding turns off and on during playback of almost all songs from different albums (purchased and downloaded from e-onkyo. 44.1kHz and 96kHz). Tried 'Audirvana' and 'Roon', both have the same problem. Never before when I've used a DAC on UDP-205. That means my system (Mac mini) is fine. Does anyone have the same problem or does anyone know how to solve this? By the way. FW v2.12.*** I finally figured it out.*** All my problems were solved after I changed my Audirvana setup from [MQA Decoder Device] to [MQA Renderer Device]. No more switching on and off. No more clicking noise! In this case, the display shows [MQB] with a pink dot. But it sounds really great and took all the stress out of me. Maybe I expected too much and let this little box decipher everything. After all, it only cost $400. It transcribes old albums perfectly, but not new releases like Michael Bublé's "Love", Charlie Puth's "Voicenotes". Maybe there is too much information in the new version? I do not know. But now I am happy with my purchase.
