Firstly, make sure you know that when installing in a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback the ignition cylinders are different for manual and automatic transmissions. This only works with automatic transmissions. It was easy to install. Just move the ignition key 1 click clockwise on the car with a screwdriver (I think this is an additional position). Then take the key for it, insert it and move it one click forward to the acc position. Then just stick it where it belongs and it snaps into place. Ready.
