Review on Sigma 150 600Mm 5 6 3 Contemporary Canon by Alvis Minchenko

Better than Tamron 150-600

I bought and returned two copies of the Tamron 150-600 because I could not get clear handheld images at any stable level, especially over 500mm. To be honest I'm not sure what the problem was, maybe vibration compensation, maybe autofocus, maybe glass, maybe a combination of problems. PDA straight out of the box! The optical stabilization is fast, dependable and dependable, and this combined with its compact size and relatively light weight makes it an exceptional portable super telephoto lens. The best I've ever used. At f/8 this lens really competes in image quality with much more expensive lenses. Sigma has found a way to offer wildlife photographers perfection in form, function and price! Here's a completely unedited shot of one of the first shots I took from the back porch while testing the lens. Here are some photos I took with this lens. It's connected to a Canon 70D and all but the moon shots are handheld.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No automatic controls
