I've used other brewers where the lids don't hold securely and contents spill where it's not needed. This brewer has a secure cap with a chain and hook to attach to a tall iced tea glass or rim. I've filled this concoction with spices for soups, sauces, and especially cooked corned beef and cabbage, which add all the flavor of the spices without sprinkling whole seeds over the recipe. The base is part of the whole cup and is not attached separately, so my old brewing unit is lost. The very fine filtration design releases a lot of flavor, so you can measure out small amounts of spices and spices to get the taste you want. Outstanding functional design.
