Did exactly what he said. I connected it to Windows 7 when upgrading to Windows 10 because my old Windows 10 didn't support. This did it and it was plug and play. I also have an old computer but it's custom made and has a lot of bells and whistles so I don't know if this could possibly improve or affect compatibility BUT it wasn't even an issue with this inexpensive lifesaver. Another thing is that my router is upstairs in the living room and my computer is downstairs in the basement and I have no problem connecting to the internet!
