I have a trailer with a 6-pin connector. I bought a hitch and 7 pin connector for my truck, thinking it would be nice to have the latest version of the connector on my truck. It was a good tester to make sure I had the wiring installed correctly and when I was able to plug a 6 pin trailer connector into it that was wired to a 7 pin connector the brakes and lights worked great.
