Good powerful controller for $- pros and cons listed

I have had quality TriTronics controllers for many years. Heavy duty and works great. But Garmin bought them and only sells these cheap batteries that only last a few months so we can buy new collars which is why I refuse to buy another Tritronic. I have done extensive research on different types of waterproof collars for 3/4 mile hunting dogs. Cons: 1 is roughly stronger than 3 on any other collar. Controller: light and cheap in the hand. Off takes 4 seconds to press button to turn n on (both collar and controller). Therefore, you cannot turn off and then quickly turn on again to fix the dog. So when riding, as usual, I have to look down and focus on which little number is flashing. A tiny hook for attaching a tip - it breaks off on the first hit in a deep brush. The black color slider is hard to find when dropped. Forest or Trail Advantages: unbeatable price. It has vibrate, beep and correction buttons. Easily rechargeable with a reversible plug. She stops halfway when I call her away from the creature, but decides to end the hunt and THEN return to her own time. It found it at 5 p.m.! Works great - when she starts chasing a deer, marmot or cat - I call out - if there is no answer you correct her and she turns around squeaking, she walks as fast as she can. Two workouts with it, it's 100% on me. For those of you who think e-collars are cruel, she is safe now, she won't be hit by a car like before or shot by an angry person for trespassing. Works on tall corn and heavy bushes. Very satisfied. It's not exactly the quality I'm used to with the controller in hand, I'm not sure the controller will hold up as well as my tritronics, but it's almost a third of the price. And all I really need is a fix to work, so I'm happy. If I was working around town, walking in heels, etc., I'd choose a $300 collar with finer adjustments to attract attention than correct it. But if you need something to break your dog from biting, growling or threatening food, barking incessantly, or listening to commands, this is great. I work with Beagles, Border Collies and Gordon Setters. I also use it on horses when they need to correct uncontrollable paw movements, attack or corner people. Even if you have a mean horse that will bully a new horse to the point of horror or tear new horses apart like a shark. Just make the collar longer with yarn.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine
