This shoe can do it all: hiking, casual wear, treadmill, trail running, hill and hill walking, creek crossing. The tread design is amazing. Grip is like the all-terrain studded tires on your Jeep. The stone guard is a flexible material in the sole of the shoe, e.g. B. Kevlar, and protects you from sticks/stones poking through the sole of the shoe. The DNA Loft 2 is robust, more robust than a comfortable road bike shoe, but feels good when running and is more durable than my Brooks perfume. The fit is a little tight in the heel and forefoot, the toe box is roomy for me with a medium width, foot on the narrower side is medium. The lacing system is great, you have extra holes to thread the laces back through like a runner's knot, the elastic holders hold your laces so they don't get snagged on branches. There are Velcro straps on the heel for attaching leggings. I will be using them primarily in wet/snowy New England winters. Gore-Tex keeps me dry and comfortable. Great shoe, Brooks are really dominating the shoe market in 2022 and these sneakers were well designed and good value. I give them 5 stars.
