I fitted my new trailer with an impulse brake so there is no standard length safety pin on the clutch arm. Its length is about 2 inches instead of the usual 1 inch or so. I needed a set of the same wrench for both the 5/8" receiver pin (2" receiver tube) and hitch so I don't have to fiddle with lots of wrenches when trying to hitch a trailer and most and Disconnect kits are designed to connect shorter length pins. This is the perfect solution when you need a longer pen. The 1/4" pin is a lot longer than I need, but can be adjusted to the length I want by simply sliding the locking mechanism further down, and it doesn't have much play. As a protection device, I'm happy with it. Regarding the issue of the latch manually slipping off the connector that some users mention in their reviews, I thought for a moment I had the same issue, but now I have an explanation after you put the latch back onto the clutch pin really have to slip by hand. I've been wearing them for about a week and they work flawlessly every time I insert the key. I move them around a lot these days because I'm still finishing my build, so I've used them a lot and I like their performance compared to other setups I've used. Some of the other reviewers had corrosion issues so I'll let you know if I have any issues with locks freezing due to corrosion, but so far so good. I will definitely lubricate the locks with grease from time to time to prevent corrosion.
