Review on Metra 70-7301 Radio Wiring Harness for Hyundai and Kia 1999-2008 by Eder Boesel

This wiring harness is required to install an aftermarket head unit in an Elantra 06. The Metra packaging clearly shows which cables are connected to what. The manual for my main unit (Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X696) also labels the harness wires for correct installation, making it easy to connect each harness together. For my project I chose to solder the bundles and wrap them with heat shrink tubing. The solder provides a quality connection, and the overlying shrink wrap provides insulation. If I had to do it all over again I would use male/female quick couplers as it would then be much easier to move the head unit to another car. Otherwise I would have to splice and redo it now.
