I wanted to change the gear oil myself and was looking for a really good new filter set. Luckily I found it! I was a cheaper alternative to the original Mercedes I was looking at. I have a 2000 C230 and this thing needs regular maintenance. Although the manufacturer even says that the gearbox does not need to be replaced on the car as it has a lifetime sealed gearbox oil system. Mechanics recommend not changing the fluid, but after reading the forums I realized what I needed. Because as the liquid ages, it begins to degrade. So I changed the gear oil myself and bought this. I figured I might as well change the filter while I'm under the car. So I bought this kit and so far my car is running perfectly. No signs of problems and I feel like everything is running a little smoother than before. Installation was easy as all you have to do is drain the transmission pan, remove the transmission pan, remove the old o-ring and filter. Then clean everything, put it back on and screw everything back on. Pretty easy and cheap!
