Everything is metal except the handle, the handle is finished shiny plastic that doesn't look like plastic until you touch it . I installed it on a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the adapters didn't fit so I took a drill and expanded the drill bit that was too small and it fitted perfectly. The instructions suck! Look at the pictures and understand what it is. To install it, there is an adapter at the top, a spring in the middle, and another metal part at the bottom, it's hard to explain. Then there are three locking screws that you use to attach it to the shift knob on the car from different angles. It can be confusing, but then again I figured it out and installed it in 25 minutes.
